L'Oreal...stop animal testing!
#1
Remind L'Oreal to stop testing cosmetics products on animals.

They don't seem very sure about what they should do!

Here is another company that is against animal testing.

They have always been against animal testing. That was one of their founding premises.

There are good companies out there. Let us hope that L'Oreal will see that this really matters, not just because they don't want to lose business, but because it is wrong to test on animals.

This is a helpful web site.

It has good information to help sort out the good products from the bad products.

Thank you for this link. The article is very helpful Catherine.
It's amazing how many products are animal-derived....or tested on animals.

Burts Bees lip balm was always my favourite as I had to survive many cold winds and sun, outside every day. It did a good job. Now it seems very unfair to use it. I am seeking an alternative (and not one with lanolin either) Lanolin (extracted from sheep's wool, sounds pretty benign, as after all -they are only sheared! No harm comes to them. (?)
But the way sheep are treated generally as commodities, and sheared commercially leaves a lot to be desired.)

It is hard to try and live ethically. You have to review everything and look for the good products. It would be easier if the companies changed and the agricultural industry changed. In the mean time we are all doing the best you can.

I don't know what to suggest because I do not know what kind of products you have in your area. I would think that there are plant based possibilities for skin protection. I wonder if there are old recipes in really old cook books/home making books, that would suggest things you could use.

It makes no sense to test products on animals. If they are so bad that they can harm an animal, why are they trying to market them for humans. It would be better to produce things from safe ingredients that we know are safe. It makes sense to me.

This is a related article and it is quite good.

There is no doubt that animal testing is a hold over from a scientifically more primitive time. We can do things differently now if we wanted to.
