Act of cruelty leads to amputation.
#1
Misty came home crying one day. A trip to the vet revealed that she had been shot three times. Her leg was so damaged that it couldn't be saved.
So now  this beautiful cat must adjust to life with only one back leg.
Hopefully someone will know who did this and report them. It was a senseless act of cruelty.

It is very sad to see a cat left handicapped like that. She will learn to get around, but cats like to jump. Misty's jumping days are over.  The rest of her life will be limited. I really hope someone reports whoever did this. They probably did not expect her to live. I know Misty's owner is going to cherish her and nurture her and give her the best life possible.  No one should be allowed to take as much from an animal as was taken from Misty.

This is indeed very sad indeed. However, I knew before reading this article that it had happened in the USA. The fact that firearms can be easily bought without any licence makes such offences easy to commit by anyone with the inclination to do it.

Sadly you can buy a gun at a local Walmart in the USA. This could even have been done by a kid. People do not store their guns safely so their children can't get at them. Whoever did this is a danger to people as well. We already know that. They may try to track down the person responsible, but nothing will be done to make the guns less available. Many animals get shot every year. Sometimes they are accidents, but a lot are acts of cruelty. The cruelty won't stop until the whole attitude towards guns and animals stops.

That is the situation, in a nutshell....

We need to reach people as children and teach them that cruelty is wrong. We need to teach by example. It is not good enough to  claim to love animals and then have a cheese burger. We have to be consistent in our rejection of animal cruelty.
Rejecting guns would help too.
