Kavaan the Elephant on the way to a new life
#1
Kavaan has been labeled the world's loneliest elephant. He has lived in a zoo in Pakistan since he was a baby, 35 years ago. His mate died  in 2012 and he has been alone since then. In 2016, Cher learned of Kavaan and has been working to free him ever since through her charity Free The Wild. A huge social media campaign has pushed for his relocation to a more suitable location.  Islamabad Zoo was closed earlier this year and Four Paws was given permission to move Kavaan.
He will be relocated to the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary. Kavaan will live in a large jungle enclosure with three other elephants. Much of his food will be natural and he can gather it himself. Some things will still be provided. Even though at his age he can't just be released to the wild, this sanctuary is a close alternative.
Finally after years of captivity and years of loneliness Kavaan  will have a real life.

I know this was the work of many animal lovers around the world. Special thanks goes to Cher and everyone else who organized things. To all of us to signed petitions we can be happy that our efforts succeeded. Finally and at last one lonely elephant will have a happy life with other elephants in a jungle that will seem natural to him. I wish Kavaan many happy years in his new home.
