Indeed. Wonderful news! I am actually hopeful for the USA, for the first time in many years. I am also hopeful that all species of animals (including humans) will benefit from a more ecologically aware government in the USA. It always made me suspicious of Trump that he had no WH domestic animals, breaking a very long-standing tradition in the USA. But now....Harris will be the first female vice-president. Major will be the first rescue dog in the WH. Things are looking up, at last!

However, I should also remind folks that France has had a resident rescue dog in the presidential home for several years already. Here he is helping Macron greet a visiting head of state, back in pre-Covid days:
