Airline loses cat in baggage room...found 3 weeks later
#1
A man living in Montreal decided to return to Manitoba to be with his ailing mother. His flight had a layover in Toronto. During that time one of his cats was lost in the baggage room. The airline refused to let him look for the cat himself. He ended up going on to Winnipeg with the other cat. The airline has still not found the cat and is now willing to let him search. He is no longer in Toronto and during the pandemic flying back is not so simple. He is still in self isolation from the original trip.
The airline has offered compensation, but they have not found the cat.

This could have been prevented if he had been on his original direct flight. Direct fights are safer when you are flying with pets.
The airline staff need to be more careful with animals in their care. The cat carrier should not have been left where the cat could escape into the larger baggage area.  Once the cat was out they should have let the owner search for the cat immediately. He might nave been able to find his cat and coax it to come to him.

Airlines are willing to take money to fly people's pets, but they are not willing to be careful with them.

It doesn't look to hopeful for the cat.
