Firefighters rescue a dog from a creek
#1
Boss the dog was out walking with his owner when he fell into Cypress Creek. He dropped 12 meters onto a bit of a ledge and was stranded there.
The owner called 911 and a trained rescue crew arrived and quickly  brought about a daring rescue. The dog was  rescued from the creek and then brought back up to where the owner awaited. He was cold and wet, but otherwise unharmed. Other than a bit of worry the owner was fine.

In a situation like this, the first instinct of the dog's owner  is to jump in and rescue the dog yourself. This was not a simple rescue and that choice would have ended badly for the dog and the owner. Instead the owner calmly called in the professionals. They had the equipment and the training to rescue Boss safely.
It all ended well.
All too often when a dog falls in a river and is seemingly swept away, the owner jumps in to save the dog and is also swept away. Many times the dog makes it to shore and the owner is lost. In this case, making the right choice and calling for help, resulted in a happy ending for everyone.
When a rescue needs to be done, it is better to call for professional help.
