Cat rescue being forced to move

A cat rescue in the north end of Toronto  has until March first to move its cats out of the property they are renting. The reason is zoning complications. 
If they are not granted special permits, they will not be able to house more than 3 cats at a time on the premises.  They would eventually have to move because the area is scheduled for redevelopment. They just need to be given more time  to find a suitable place for the rescue.

North Toronto Cat Rescue has been at its current location for 2 1/2 years. So whatever the zoning issue is, the shelter has been there all this time without problems.
Surely the city  can find a way to let them stay there until they find a new location.  They do a lot of good by reducing the stray cat population.  For the sake of the good they do it would make sense to make and exception for them. Toronto has had a serious stray cat problem. The efforts of groups like this have really helped to make a difference. The shelter has a petition to the mayor of Vaughan  to allow them to stay where they are for now. I hope the mayor listens.
