During the 2020 bushfires many animals were lost. Fortunately many were rescued. A koala was brought to safety before the fire went through her area. She turned out to have a tiny little baby in her pouch. For months they were cared for as the trees and the land recovered. Now finally it has been possible to return them to their natural habitat. It took a bit of watching and helping for them to settle in again, but things look good.

It is a relief to hear some good news. A year ago the losses were staggering. Now with the land recovering animals can resume their lives. In this case it is two koalas. If there are two, there will be more. Hopefully the land will continue to recover and the animals will find a way to repopulate the area.
We can only hope.
