Pandemic Pets may suffer separation anxiety when lockdown ends
#1
Many people brought home pets to help them get through the pandemic. Our pandemic pets may have helped us get though this difficult time, but now they face their own difficult time. They are used to us being home much of the time. They have not learned any routines of us going to work and leaving them alone.
Experts are asking whether our pets are ready for the separation and they are making suggestions for ways to prepare your pet.

This would be especially true of a young pet that was brought home early in the pandemic. That pet will have grown up in a world where  it is never alone. Its people are there all the time and have lots of time for them. That pet can't imagine a world where it is left alone all day.
We can't help the fact that we may be out there again living part of our lives away from home. We can help prepare our pets for that day.
It would be good to start right away because things could change suddenly and it would be frightening for a pet to suddenly be left alone.
