Extinct Galapagos tortoise found after 100 years
#1
A species of Galapagos tortoise was believed to be extinct over 100 years ago. Recently a specimen was found on Fernandina Island. Upon studying it, scientists determined it was a the tortoise thought to be extinct more than a century ago. Hopefully it is not the only one.

There is always hope when a species hasn't been seen in a long time. It would be amazing if the species was still live and thriving.
Only time will tell.

I found a much more detailed article about the tortoise.

Even a few small islands hold more secrets than we know. We don't really know all of what  lives on the planet with us. They are still finding new species.

They may find more tortoises of her kind.
