Wild mushrooms can be poisonous for pets
#1
After a heavy rain mushrooms can pop up anywhere. We don't even notice them. Our pets however can get curious and try eating them.  Many of these mushrooms are toxic and can make a pet very sick and even kill them. It is important to watch out for wild mushrooms anywhere that a pet will be. If a pet eats a mushroom it should be taken to a vet along with a mushroom so the vet can identify it. If a pet is sick after being outside where there are mushrooms it is best to take the pet to a vet right away. The longer the pet waits to see a vet, the greater the damage the mushroom can do to their system.

Some mushrooms are very toxic. They produce chemicals that once absorbed will continue to do damage to the body. Mushrooms that are sold for food are safe. Wild mushrooms can even look very similar to food mushrooms, but there are differences. Sometimes it takes an expert to spot the differences. Any mushrooms growing wild should be considered dangerous unless you really know they are safe. The safest thing is to not let a pet have a chance to eat a wild mushroom.
Even a small amount could be serious if the mushroom is a highly poisonous one. Be careful to wash your hands after handling wild mushrooms. They can be toxic for humans too.
