Vietnam circus ends bear performances
#1
Hanoi Central Circus has ended its performing bear acts. The four Moon Bears have been retired to the Animals Asia Sanctuary. They join two other bears from the same circus. The six of them can live in peace  in a habitat that meets their needs and allows them to act naturally as bears should.
The Animals Asia Sanctuary is now home to 186 bears. It is hoped there will be more bears arriving as circuses shut down their animal acts. The people of Vietnam no longer want to see animal acts and they are signing petitions to stop them. Schools are refusing to take children to circuses with animal acts.
In time circus bears will be a thing of the past and retired bears will live out happy retirements.

I think the shift from animal acts is happening everywhere. People no longer find them entertaining because they know the animals lead horrible lives.
It is encouraging that Animals Asia has so many bears at its sanctuary. Some of these bears are from the circus, but others are from bile farms. It is taking a long time, but animal cruelty  no longer acceptable to people and industries based on animal cruelty are being shut down. Sadly some animals will not live long enough to know a happy retirement, but for many the future is bright. Hopefully they can forget the horrible years they endured before they were rescued.
