Volunteers tend to pets of wildfire evacuees in Manitoba
#1
In remote areas of northern Manitoba people were given little time before they were evacuated by plane from areas threatened by wildfires.  They were not able to get to their pets or to bring them along. Teams of volunteers have been going around providing food and water to the pets who were left alone.

I can only offer my utmost respect for the people who are caring for the pets left behind. We can hope the pets all make it. Sadly some probably won't.
I don't think we can picture how remote these areas are. They flew people out because there are no roads to the areas. They are fly in only communities.
Many people would not have been able to get back to their homes even if they had wanted to.  I hope when this is over they have homes and pets to return to.
If they can bring some of the pets out now and reunite them with their people, it would certainly make everyone feel better. Until then, there are amazing volunteers who are doing everything possible to save pet's lives.
