Flash the Cockatiel was flying around inside the home when someone opened a door and she flew out. It was a beautiful day and she kept on flying.
The family and friends searched, but no one saw her. They thought they heard her. After 4 days she turned up at the neighbours and landed on someone.
The family was notified and they quickly came and got her. Now she is happily at home again, very much her old self.
The plan is to be more careful about the doors and to clip a few flight feathers so she can't fly as far if it happens again.

After 4 days they must have been giving up hope. Any bird rescues I know of happened in the first hours because the lost bird approached someone right away. Flash was out there for four days having a bit of an adventure. Flash must really love them. She had the whole world to fly in and she came home to her people.
It is nice just once to hear a happy ending to a lost bird story.
