Stolen hedgehog returned safely
#1
A pet store in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada had a little pygmy hedgehog. One day near closing a woman popped in while the staff was busy and put the hedgehog in her purse and left the store. She wasn't wearing a mask so they did see her face.
Once the word was out about the theft, Whitehorse stepped up and helped identify the woman. The police took her and the hedgehog into custody.
The hedgehog was safely returned to the store where she is being properly cared for and is doing well.
The woman had been carrying the hedgehog around in a box in her purse.

Good thing the hedgehog was found so quickly. There is no way her needs were being met in a box in a purse.
She was so tired that she drank a lot of water and then slept a lot.

Stealing an animal is a terrible thing. Stealing an exotic animal is worse.  The animal is not going to be properly looked after. Stolen animals like that often end up dying. This little hedgehog was lucky. Of course the people of Whitehorse really helped.
