Bear the rescue dog honored for saving Koalas
#1
Bear the rescue dog was too energetic for a regular home. He was trained to detect Koalas by Detection Dogs for Conservation. During the 2019-2020 fire season he located more than 100 koalas that needed help. Because of his efforts the koalas received food and water and treatment for their burns. Many would have survived because of his efforts.
Bear was given a special mention at the Animal Action Awards. He certainly deserved it.
Jasper the therapy dog was given the Animal of the Year Award for comforting health care workers during the pandemic.

Both dogs are amazing. They really did so much to help during emergencies. I am glad they are being recognized for their work. Dogs do so much for us. We need to remember and respect them for it.

I found an article about Jasper so we can read about him too.

I would have loved a visit from Jasper. I am sure his presence kept a lot of people going.
