The Fairy Tale Dogs.
#1
In mid July, more than 150 dogs where removed from a hoarder situation in southern Ontario. Fifty-seven of then ended up at Hamilton-Burlington SPCA. That number quickly grew to 72 when litters of puppies were born.  They were smaller breeds of dogs like chihuahuas, dachshunds and even border collies. They were hungry and had a range of health concerns. One dog even lost a leg. They had not been trained or even house broken.
After months of work they are now healthy happy dogs, ready to be adopted into forever homes. The shelter has named them The Fairy Tale Dogs.
Some have already found their forever homes and hopefully the rest will be adopted soon.

It is amazing how such badly neglected dogs could respond to good treatment and recover so well. It is not just their physical health that has improved. They have become happy well adjusted dogs. Of course that is a tribute to the wonderful loving care they have received.

Sadly there are way too many dog hoarding situations. Whenever these dogs are rescued they respond so well to love and good care.
They make such wonderful pets because they are always happy to have been rescued and given a chance at a better life.
The puppies were especially lucky. They were born into better circumstances than their parents.

"All's well that ends well", as the Bard said...

This story shows that this shelter did wonderful work in helping these dogs and puppies after a terrible beginning, and also it shows how dogs can respond so well when given love and attention.

There are some amazing people working with rescue dogs. You are right, dogs respond to love and good care. Even if they have never had a loving home, most dogs respond and become happy loving dogs.
