Marineland charged for using whales and dolphins in their shows
#1
Canada passed legislation concerning whales and dolphins in 2019. It is an anti captivity legislation and it forbids the use of whales and dolphins in shows where they perform tricks for the public. Last August Dolphin shows were videoed at Marineland. The images were turned over to the police and charges have been laid.
Marineland was already under investigation because of the poor quality of the water is their tanks.

Marineland denies everything and looks forward to its day in court(Feb 14, 2022).

Marineland also resists sending Kiska to the Nova Scotia Whale Sanctuary. They make a number of claims against the sanctuary.

Marineland has been in trouble off and on for years. They have had a lot of whale deaths. Their animals are in obvious distress.
They definitely use them in shows. There are way too many witnesses to the shows for a denial to really work.
It will be interesting to see how the court case works out. They are clearly breaking the law.

The whale sanctuary is being built  right now. They could receive whales by 2023.

Even when the sanctuary is done and receiving whales, Marineland will not want to let Kiska go.
They seem dedicated to having her die a miserable captive death after a miserable captive life.
