Animals that form monogamous pairs.
#1
We kind of missed Valentine's Day so it is fitting that we at least acknowledge true love, in the animal kingdom that is.
There are a number of species that bond for life.  They are strictly monogamous. If their partner dies they don't move on.
You might be quite surprised at what species form lifelong bonds. They are from many different areas of the animal kingdom.
Here are 15 examples.

I am not surprised by the bird pairs. Birds often seem very close. Sea horses and shrimp surprised me. I knew about the shingleback lizard. They can stay faithful for twenty years even though they only come together once a year to mate. Conditions where they live are so harsh, there isn't enough food to sustain them together in one territory.
It is beautiful to think that there are couples out there building nests and planning to spend the rest of their lives together.
Belated Happy Valentine's Day to them.
