60,000 Bees stolen in Pennsylvania
#1
A supermarket chain in Pennsylvania set up a meadow with pollinator friendly plants. They set up bee hives to pollinate those plants. Now thieves have stolen 60,000 bee, three hives.

Bee thefts have been on the increase. Hives have been stolen in a number of places. Bees are essential to the production of many crops. That makes them valuable.
The hives may have been taken to sell or to use for pollination. Hopefully the thieves are not just vandals out to destroy hives. There have been way too many incidents like that. I feel for the bee keepers. They have given their time and energy to the care of those hives. Now they have no way of knowing if the bees are okay. They will always wonder.

Maybe bee hives will need to have security alarms, guard dogs and anything else that will protect them.
