Sloth bridges
#1
We are used to reading about wildlife bridges over highways and wildlife tunnels under highways. This is something different. Sloths couldn't safely use the tunnels and bridges. They need some safe way to travel from tree to tree without touching the ground. The Sloth Conservation Foundation found a way in Costa Rica. They put up rope bridges from one tree to another, some as high as 50 feet off the ground. Some human had to climb those trees and install those ropes.
The ropes work. The Sloths can climb along the ropes from tree to tree safely. Added bonus, other animals can use the ropes too. Monkeys and lizards, even a frog, have been seen using the ropes to travel between trees.

This is a brilliant idea. It take the idea of wildlife bridges and it adapts it to the needs of a specific species, a very vulnerable species.
I am glad they could help the sloths. This gives people a chance to see them, without bothering them. Sloths are gentle creatures. They just want to live quietly.
This is a perfect solution for them.

Maybe we need to do some brainstorming and find specific solutions for other animals who have trouble crossing the habitat dead zones we create.
