US Wildlife Services killed 1.75 million animals last year.

You  read the numbers right, the US Wildlife Services killed 1.75 million animals in a year.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/m...als-deaths

They give various reasons for the killings. They may feel they are justified, but when the number is that high something is wrong.
Some animals were killed by mistake and were not the target animal. It is not a mistake when it happens over and over again.
Killing animals to protect livestock is also a mistake. It doesn't ever create an ecological balance. Killing invasive species is not proving to be a successful way of controlling the spread of invasive animals.
The Wildlife Services are definitely not serving wildlife. They need to rethink their actions and come up with new methods of serving wildlife. Of maybe they sould be more honest and call themselves Wildlife Disservices.

I think there is a word missing in the title! It should be called US Wildlife Slaughter Service.

Yes your name change suggestion sums it up perfectly. They do no service to wildlife. The fact that they set traps and use cyanide is outrageous.
Until something is done to change them, the only hope animals have is from protesters in the private sector.

Maybe they need to look at their original mandate. Either they are failing it or the mandate is wrong in the first place.
