There was an exceptional heat wave with all kinds of warnings about the dangers of excessive temperatures. The woman, who had a dog walking business at the time, took two dogs out for a walk. She returned to her own home and left the dogs in the car while she did things in the house. When she came out the dogs were unresponsive. When they were examined by a vet they were already dead and their body temperatures were higher that the top reading on the thermometer.
The dog walker was charged and she has received an 18 week jail sentence.

There is so much publicity around dogs in hot cars. Every year some dogs die. There is no excuse for anyone to leave a dog in a car.
A person with a dog walking business should be even more aware. Two dogs died a horrible death and she is no longer a dog walker.
I just don't understand why she did it. It is not something that we are not sure about. We know that dogs die in hot cars.
When will people take this seriously. How many more dogs will die before people learn.
Maybe the possibility of jail time will make people think, but I doubt it.
