The war rages on and lives are lost, but every day some animals are being helped somewhere in Ukraine. There are numerous groups in the country and in the surrounding countries that are working to rescue animals. They are rescuing pets and farm animals. They are even finding ways to rescue zoo animals

In the midst of a terrible tragedy, there is still good happening. Volunteers are determined to save as many animals as they can. The picture of them carrying a lion to safety is amazing. The lion is calm and he does not threaten anyone. They are not afraid of him. It is as if he knows they are helping him.
Many of these animals will never see their families again, but at least they can have good lives with other people, somewhere safe, away from the horrors of war.
