Elephant weeps when released
#1
After 50 years of a life filled with suffering and abuse, Raju the Elephant was released in a daring rescue.

When he was finally freed, he cried:

A very moving story. So glad he is free at last, though 50 years too late...

What life must be like for, not just elephants, but all captive animals ...

There must be so many elephants out there who were used for labour and are still held captive.
At least one of them is free. Raju can live out his last years in dignity and freedom.

Elephants are very sensitive creatures. He was aware that he was free finally and at last. Too bad he can not be reunited with his family. No doubt they are all gone now.

He looks so happy now eating his apples. I'm sure he appreciates the efforts of his liberators.

This is the web site of the rescue I volunteer at.

I hope he has a quiet place to live in peace. He certainly deserves it.
