National Rescue Dog Day
#1
May 20 is National Rescue Dog Day.
It is nice to know that people celebrate having a rescue dog in their lives and encourage others to do the same.

Here are some rescue stories.

It is good that we stop and celebrate the rescue dogs in our lives.
I spent much of the day with Jessie the rescue dog. She was found wandering along the train tracks a year ago.
She lives with a friend of mine. She is gradually learning to trust us. She wants me to throw a ball for her, but she can't bring herself to let the ball go.
A couple of times she has let me have the ball. She has such fun chasing it. Mostly she is scared to let the ball go.
Tonight for the first time she let me give her a hug and kiss her on the forehead. Some day our Jessie dog will feel secure and fully trust her human friends.
Until then we are happy with every bit of progress she makes.
