Toronto's Trash Pandas at their finest
#1
Someone has compiled a number of Toronto raccoon incidents.  It is funny and there are actually many more incidents.

It is almost summer so it is the peak of Trash Panda season. We complain, but secretly we love our raccoons. The babies are so cute and so clever.
They can open any garbage can or compost bin. They can open windows and get into people's homes. My friend woke up once and found a mother raccoon and four babies in her kitchen having a feast. I looked out my window and there was a raccoon on my patio rocker, just quietly rocking and relaxing. I wonder how many nights he was out there. I think the raccoon probably used my deck more then me. We love them and we hate them and I think we are secretly proud of the little guys.
Technically they are a nuisance animal and some people want to control them. Instead, we have learned to live with them and celebrate the crazy things they do.
That means we can learn to live with a lot of other animals that are technically a nuisance. If you don't want pigeons nesting on your balcony, keep your balcony clean. Fix your screens and roofs so squirrels can't get in. Maybe they are not so much a nuisance as we are a little lazy and careless about our places.
