Drone pilot uses infrared camera to rescue animals from disasters
#1
Doug Thron is a drone pilot and an aerial cinematographer. He has used his drone to rescue animals trapped in rubble in a hurricane in the Bahamas. He used his drone to search for animals during the Australian wildfires. He had to use regular cameras with the infrared since sometimes the heat signature was from fire and not a live animal.  Now he is using his drone to rescue pets in Ukraine. People have had to flee  without their pets. Sometimes the owners have been killed. Pets can be trapped in bombed out buildings. With his drone he can find them and rescue them.

This is an amazing use of technology. It may be a long time before some buildings can be searched fully. The drone can find the pets while there is still time to rescue them. Doug is also involved in a show called Doug to the rescue. His drone has helped find and rescue animals in a number of places.
