Bat not seen in 40 years rediscovered in Rwanda
#1
They started doing a survey of the species in the Rwandan jungle in 2013. When they found the bat in 2019, they knew it was different. It took time to identify the species. It has been 40 years since a Hill's Horseshoe bat has been seen. It was assumed they were extinct.

This is good news for the bat and for other species. Some things we haven't seen in a long time may still be alive out there.
Now that we have found it, we need to make sure it survives.
