Fin Whales seen feeding off of Antarctica.
#1
Fin Whales were nearly driven to extinction by the whaling industry. Since the whaling ban in 1976, their numbers have been slowly increasing. Recovery has been slow. However, over 150 Fin Whales were seen feeding in the Antarctic waters. It was one mass of whales feeing together. This is a sight that has not been seen in a long time.
It is a sign that the whale population is recovering.

Every so often, in the midst of the crisis of climate change and species declining, we see a sign of hope. In 1976 they made a decision to ban whaling.
It has taken a long time, but we are finally seeing the results of the ban. It is worth keeping up our efforts. Over time they do have results.
