Free dog meat samples in a Toronto park...or not
#1
A group set up a booth (like many other groups do) and gave out samples at a local Toronto park. They had fancy brochures and talked about selling dog meat. They even offered preorders for things like Thanksgiving. They mentioned breed specific meat available. They used all the language used by groups selling other kinds of animals as food.
Some people were outraged and others couldn't wait to try the meat.
When they checked the brochure, it was a vegan meat alternative and the whole thing was a spoof to make a point about our attitude to eating some animals, but not others.

I missed seeing it, but it sounds like a well done campaign.
The way they talked about eating dogs was shocking to people. However, we talk about other animals in the same way. People preorder fresh turkeys for big holidays. They know those turkeys are babies somewhere right now.
People will order a specific breed of cow or duck. Is that really different from ordering a golden retriever puppy for Christmas dinner?
If they can even get people to think about their attitude to eating meat it will help.

If it is shocking to pick out a cute little lab puppy for your future family feast, why isn't it shocking to pick out a cute little lamb for the same meal?
