Natalia Popova has always been an animal lover and she did start rescuing animals before the war. She rescued an injured lion who lived out its life with Natalia.
When the war started, the need for rescuers became critical. Working with the American group UA Animals, she has rescued over 300 animals. Two hundred of them have been shipped safely out of the country.
As the was goes on, the rescuing goes on. The Ukrainian soldiers let her know if there is an animal that needs rescuing.
As long as there are animals in danger, she will be there to help them.

It is hard to believe that this is still going on. Five months ago all we could think about were animals being rescued from the war zone. It is easy to forget that it is still going on. You have to respect and admire the people like Nadia, who are still there giving everything they have, risking their lives, as long as even one animal needs their help. These are the true super heroes of the world.
