6 species that humans drove to extinction

Some of the species, like the wooly mammoth, I am familiar with. Others I have never heard of. 
It seems that humans have destroyed some of the larger species. When we hunt we always want to kill the biggest animal.
So now there is no giant beaver or giant armadillo. There are no sea cows or mammoths.
It is sad how vulnerable these animals were. They had no defense against humans.

These are just 6 examples of animals we have wiped out. There are many others, like the passenger pigeon who died out because we hunted them. There are some that we almost wiped out like the whooping crane. They only survived because we worked hard to save them after we almost destroyed them.
We need to really wake up and make sure we are not responsible for any more losses.
