Cockatoo/Human garbage bin wars escalating
#1
There is a bit of a war going on between humans and Cockatoos in Australia. Cockatoos learned to open garbage bins. In their search for food they scatter garbage and make a mess. Cockatoos have learned to do this from other cockatoos so the bin raiding has spread across the country. Methods of bin raiding tend to be local and learned from local birds and vary across the country.
Humans have responded with methods of preventing the raiding. Humans learned from other humans to do this, so the protection of bins has spread across the country. However actual methods vary and tend to be learned locally.
Cockatoos have learned to overcome these protective methods. They are teaching other cockatoos and the methods are spreading.

Its your move humans.
I am guessing whatever methods humans come up with, the birds will find a way to over come them.
It might be easier to have a separate bin for foods that cockatoos like and leave the lid open for them.
They are going to win in the end anyhow.
