Sable Island horses survive Hurricane Fiona
#1
Hurricane Fiona has been wreaking havoc on everything in its path. Sable Island took a direct hit from the hurricane.
There was fear for the Sable Island Horses. However now that the storm has passed, the horses are coming out of hiding and grazing normally.
They know to shelter from the wind amongst the large sand dunes. It is a small island, but they know to be as inland as possible.
One thing that helped is the long slope of the sandy beaches. That prevented the high storm surges other places saw.

Once again animals prove that they know what they are doing. The best way to ride out the storm would have been with the horses.
They are tough and they understand what storms can be like. It is a relief to know that they are safe.
