People and pets rescued from hurricane Ian flood waters.
#1
The storm surge from Hurricane Ian was higher than expected. Some people had to be airlifted out. They took their pets with them.
During Hurricane Katrina, they were forced to leave pets behind.

I am sure there are many other stories like this. We take our pets with us now when we flee from storms and storm damage.
People are being encouraged to leave before storms hit and to have things set up so their pets can travel. Some emergency shelters are willing to take people with their pets. The storms may be getting worse, but at least our attitude to pets and disasters is getting better.

There will be more stories of rescues as things get cleaned up.

Hopefully pets will be rescued and then find their way home.
I wish people would have evacuated with their pets before things got so bad.
No pet should have to go through such trauma.
