Six endangered wolves found dead
#1
So far this year, six endangered wolves have been found dead in Washington state. They were poisoned.
Last year 8 were found dead from poison in Oregon.
Rewards are being offered for information that leads to whoever is doing this.
They could face a year in jail, if convicted.

These are highly intelligent, beautiful creatures. They are a key component in their ecosystem.
Why would anyone do this? The actual killing of a wolf is terrible. It must be stopped.
On a deeper level, losing wolves can do serious damage to their ecosystem.
It is actually like knocking out those big posts that are taking up room in your house. You might want them gone, but they are what holds the roof up.
Learn to live with them!

This is a case where we need a lot more education about animals and their importance in the world. Most ecosystems (all of them?) would do very well without us.
The loss of an animal species can devastate their ecosystem. Whoever is doing the killing needs to think about that. I hope they end up having a year in jail to do it.
