People use dating sites to connect with people. Someone got the bright idea to post animal profiles to connect people with pets. These pets are available for adoption so if someone likes what they see, they can meet up with the pet at the shelter. If the meeting goes well, they can adopt the pet.

From what I have heard, dating sites don't always work out so well when you are meeting people.
When you are meeting a dog or cat it can't fail. They are going to let you know right away how they feel about you. You can trust them to be honest.
Through a profile online many pets that don't get noticed and who would otherwise be overlooked, have a chance to find a loving home.
It is using modern technology to solve the old problem of finding homes for shelter animals. If it works, they should keep doing it.
