Fight to keep grocery store cat
#1
A small grocery store in Vancouver has been home to Micky, a black and white cat, for a few years. He took over pest control and keeps the store rodent free. He is a bit of a mascot and a therapy cat. He helps people feel better. Unfortunately, Vancouver Coastal Health received a complaint and Micky is living elsewhere right now. So, the customers who miss Micky have started a petition to allow Micky to stay.

Who knows how this will turn out. Having a cat in a store makes sense. They do the best job of pest control. No human exterminator even comes close.
Micky knows exactly where the mice are and how to deal with them. His presence alone will keep mice from coming into the store. I would like to see a human exterminator top that.
Micky's other roles as mascot and therapy pet are invaluable. We need more stuff like this in our lives. More places should have pets to greet us and make us feel better. I hope they are successful in bringing Micky home.
