Zoo Montana is building a migrating bird stopover point
#1
Allyson is living her dream job. She is the Zoo Montana's wetlands keeper. That means she works with wetlands birds. She also works with river otters. They even came home and swam in her bathtub for a while. Now the zoo is building an area for migrating birds to stop over. It is a long migration and much of the natural stopover habitats are shrinking due to human activity.
The zoo will be providing a much-needed rest and refreshment for the birds. The display will also feature local fish so the public can see them.
Working with this project will be even more of a dream job. For the migrating birds it will be more of a miracle rest spot on a long difficult journey.

This is amazing. We have destroyed so many natural bird habitats. Actually creating something for the birds is really important.
Zoo Montana is really doing a good job of conservation and species survival. Many birds will make it because they have somewhere to rest on their long migration.
The rest of us need to look at doing the same where needed.
