A little chihuahua was found in a cat carrier by a road sweeper. It was back by the bins at a Tescos. It has been safely rescued and is doing okay.
Two pet rabbits were found running along the road. They have been rescued, but the pregnant female miscarried a litter of babies.
A couple of cats were rescued at the same time.

People are dumping their pets in alarming numbers. It may be for economic reasons, but it is still wrong to dump a pet.
If they need to give up a pet, they should rehome it or surrender it to a shelter. At least it would save the shelters from the cost of going out on a rescue mission.
There are pet food banks around that would help. There are always better options than dumping an animal. Sadly, not all dumped animals have a happy ending.
Pets trust us. We should at least not betray them by tossing them out like garbage.
