A four year old Right Whale has been found entangled in ropes. The entanglement is serious and attempts will be made to free the whale. It is not easy and the whale has to be located again before it can be helped.
The whale's mother was located recently and she now has a tenth calf. Spindle is doing her part for the species.
So far there have been 11 calves in the calving season.
The mortality rate from human activity is high so the numbers are still declining.

We have got to clean up the oceans. We can see the damage our junk is causing. We can watch and hear reports of whales dying slowly because of entanglements. We can hear about whales dying from ship strikes. Now we need to do something or we will be hearing about how we caused yet another species to go extinct.
