We celebrated Penguin Awareness Day on Friday Jan 22.
Everyone loves penguins and it is nice to celebrate them. It is also important that we recognize that their numbers are declining. Climate change is going to hurt their numbers. They are adapted to the cold. Loss of ice and rising temperatures will effect them badly. It will effect their food sources.
Our fishing their waters effects their food sources.

If you really love penguins and not just the cute cartoon version, this is a good time to donate to penguin conservation.
Don't eat anything that was taken from their southern waters. Learn about them and push for penguin conservation efforts.
It would be sad if one day there were no penguins left to be aware of.
