Animal Shelter in urgent need of new facilities
#1
Collingwood's Georgian Triangle Humane Society is now operating its shelter way past its capacity. The shelter was built to manage 500 animals. Now it is looking after more than a thousand a year. The need for help from the Humane Society has risen tremendously.
They are in the midst of a fund raising campaign to build a new shelter. They already have the property and they hope to have the new shelter open by 2025.

The picture of post surgical dogs and cats recovering on the hallway floor says it all. They have nowhere to put the animals, but somehow they are managing to care for them. I hope the fundraising and building plans go well. There is clearly a need for a good shelter in the area.

With the economic turmoil now and the pandemic problems of the last few years, animal shelters everywhere are struggling and they are needed more than ever.
