There is a dog feed recall due to a Vit D toxicity. The affected products are Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets which were distributed throughout the USA, by veterinary clinics and some retailers.

The toxicity is serious enough that they are asking people to be careful how they dispose of the product. Given the danger to wildlife I think it would be better if the company took the product back and disposed of it themselves. It is not just people's pets that are at risk. If wildlife gets into a bag of the toxic food it could be fatal.
They need to be more careful about quality control in the first place. There are too many pet food recalls.
