Alligator found in New York City Lake!
#1
I grew up hearing stories of alligators roaming the New York sewer system. It is one of the most persistent urban legends.
Now after all these years they have actually found an alligator in New York City. It was in a lake, not the sewers, but that won't stop the legend from gaining life again.
This alligator was probably a released pet. The cold weather has not been good for him and he is under care for cold shock.

The alligator could make a good recovery. The urban legend will make a great recovery.
People will be seeing alligators everywhere. They will certainly be rumors of alligators in the sewers.

I hope this alligator is able to go on and live out a good life, preferably in a much warmer climate.

I found a follow up article. The poor alligator is in pretty rough shape.

Hopefully warming him up and feeding him will make a difference.
He looks pretty unhappy right now.

The story continues. The alligator, now known as Godzilla, has something inside its body. The Xray shows what appears to be a bathtub stopper.

This is bad news. Godzilla is already in bad shape. She is half her normal weight. They are doing special feeding, but it is not certain that she is going to make it.
They can't remove the object while she is so weak. We can only hope she gains strength and weight.

Hi friends. How are you all. I hope you all will be fine. An alligator is a very big reptile — a scaly, four-footed animal with a long tail. You might see an alligator if you travel to Florida or Louisiana.

Alligators are only found in the warmest, swampiest places in the United States and China — and occasionally in the zoo. They can grow as long as fourteen feet and can weigh more than 900 pounds, and they eat turtles, birds, fish, and sometimes deer. Alligator comes from the Spanish el lagarto, or "lizard." In the 1930s, if someone called you an alligator, they might have been referring to your love for swing music.

Very interesting. Thank-you for sharing that with us.
Finding an alligator in New York was a real surprise for everyone, including the alligator.
He knows it should be warmer where he belongs.
