Rabbits rescued from busy road
#1
A number of rabbits were spotted along a busy road. There may be as many as 15 rabbits out there.
They are pet rabbits who have been abandoned and they would have little hope of survival.
The RSPCA has only been able to find three of them.

This is very sad. If there were 15 rabbits out there and they only found 3 of them, that means a dozen pet rabbits are lost, alone and frightened.
Unless someone finds them, they won't survive. They are white rabbits and they will be visible to predators.
They won't know how to find food. It is still too cold for them. They are not adapted to winter like a wild rabbit. They wouldn't even know where to look for shelter.

Everyone wants a fluffy baby bunny. They are so cute. However a pet is a commitment. A rabbit needs to be cared for all of its life.
If a person really can't keep the rabbit anymore, abandonment is not the answer. People need to at least be responsible enough to give up the rabbit to an animal shelter. No rabbit should be turned loose to suffer and die, alone and afraid. Rabbits are such vulnerable creatures. We need to look after them properly. If you can't do that, then don't get a rabbit.
