Reuniting with lost pets after earthquake in Turkey
#1
Many people were separated from their pets because of the earthquake in Turkey. Groups like Humane Society International are on scene rescuing pets.
Now the job of reuniting has begun. This is were modern technology has helped. Microchips can positively identify any pet even if it is a mess from living one the streets for many days. Facebook posts and other social media  help people connect with whoever rescued their pet. In one case, a recording of the owner's voice brought a frightened cat out of hiding. She was rescued and reunited.
Work still goes on to find, rescue and reunite.

Hopefully every pet is found and reunited with its people. When you have lost everything, as long as you have your pet, you can start over. Somehow homes will be built and life will go on. If your beloved pet is with you, your new place will feel like home. The earthquake is a terrible tragedy. So many lives were lost.
Every pet reunion is a bit of joy in a very bad situation.
