Chile announces biological corridor for endangered deer
#1
Chile has launched a program to protect its endangered southern deer. They have created a biological corridor that links deer populations. Without this linking, the populations will not survive. The southern deer or Huenul are reduced to 1% of their original numbers. They need to be able to move freely. The corridor will link 16 protected areas. This initiative is the work of the government. the Rewilding Chile Foundation and a large donation from the late philanthropist, Douglas Tompkins.

The deer will benefit from this, but so will the many other species that inhabit the same areas. When ever we help one part of nature, we help many other parts.
This is an amazing action. I hope other nations take notice.
