Dolphins trapped by ice in Newfoundland, have been freed
#1
About a dozen dolphins who were close to shore got trapped by ice that was forming. The Whale Release and Strandings group came to the rescue along with local residents. The dolphins were mostly on the beach so they had to be dragged across the ice by sled to reach open water.
They worked hard to bring the dolphins to safety. Most of them survived.

Dolphins on the rocks are so vulnerable. It is beautiful the way people rushed to help them. They would have all died without help.
It must have been cold and wet, but people stayed for hours. I am glad their efforts were able to free the dolphins.
